The latest Sims 4 Update Brings Exciting Changes

A brand new patch has been rolled out for The Sims 4 on PC and Mac via Origin's Application Settings as well as consoles. If automatic updates are enabled, players won't even notice a thing until they open up the game client - at which point it will automatically download and install itself behind the scenes.

However, if you've chosen to opt-out of these convenience features (perhaps due with concerns about data privacy or simply because you prefer more control over when your software gets updated), then fear not! You can still manually force a refresh by selecting 'Check for Updates' from within Origin's Library tab. Once there just click on The Sims 4 entry and look out below where it says 'More Details...'. There should now be an option labeled as either 'Update Now' or something similar depending upon your region - clicking this will prompt the corresponding update to begin downloading immediately.

As always, please note that updating any piece of software carries some small risks involved. It's recommended that you back up all relevant save files before proceeding just in case anything goes awry during installation (though EA claims there shouldn't be any issues).
